Overview
We are seeking a Senior AI-Enabled Software Engineer to operate as the production-quality counterweight inside a Colombia-based AI Pod. Your specialty is reviewing, hardening and shipping AI-drafted code at production quality — closing the loop between "AI generates" and "production accepts." You also write code, but your distinctive value to the pod is rigorous quality engineering: catching what the AI misses, embedding tests and observability and ensuring AI-augmented velocity doesn't come at the cost of long-term maintainability.
Responsibilities
- Lead code review for AI-drafted output: correctness, security, performance, maintainability, architectural alignment
- Develop production-quality software using AI coding agents as authoring tools
- Embed automated tests (unit, integration, contract, end-to-end) into the delivery pipeline
- Instrument code for observability — logs, metrics, traces feeding into Cox's existing platforms
- Maintain code health: refactor AI-generated artifacts, eliminate duplication, enforce conventions
- Contribute review heuristics, patterns and anti-patterns to the pod's context packs
- Pair with the other engineer and Architect on complex problems
- Participate in continuous WoW refinement and quality metric reporting
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Daily production use of AI coding agents and a strong code review track record as a senior reviewer on a previous team
- Deep experience with automated testing across multiple levels (unit, integration, e2e)
- Familiarity with secure coding practices (OWASP Top 10, SAST/DAST workflows)
- Cloud-native development skills, preferably AWS
- Expertise in Claude Code, Specification Driven Development (SDD) and Testing in SDLC
- Proficiency in Test Procedures and Test Reports preparation
- Bilingual: English (working proficiency) and Spanish
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
Nice to have
- Background in security engineering or certifications (CSSLP, OSCP, etc.)
- Claude Certified Architect (CCA)
- Familiarity with observability platforms (OpenTelemetry, Datadog, New Relic)
- Contributions to engineering quality tooling, including GitHub Spec Kit
- Prior tech-lead or staff-engineer experience on a small team
