Semrush is hiring a Data Analyst to join the Product Marketing (Data as a Service) team in Barcelona with a hybrid working model. The role focuses on extracting, validating and turning large digital datasets into external-facing, data-driven marketing assets and stories.

Responsibilities:

  • Pull, clean, and validate clickstream and DaaS datasets to answer external and internal questions about consumer and digital behavior.
  • Create and maintain a library of data-driven sales enablement assets (industry benchmarks, usage trends, ROI narratives) for pitches, RFPs, and customer conversations.
  • Support joint reports and external studies by owning data pulls, methodology, and result validation.
  • Produce fast, accurate data pulls for media opportunities, journalist requests, and commentary.
  • Build analytical outputs for recurring content programs (quarterly trend reports, topical studies on search, AI, online behavior).
  • Identify notable patterns and explain their significance to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Create repeatable methodologies and QA standards for consistent, defensible external data stories.
  • Support spokesperson and executive visibility with data-backed evidence for articles and thought leadership.

Requirements:

  • 1–3 years of experience in data analysis, insights, or marketing analytics (digital, SaaS, media, or fast-paced tech environment preferred).
  • Strong SQL, Python, and spreadsheet skills to extract, clean, and QA large datasets efficiently.
  • Comfort or interest in working with behavioral, clickstream, or large digital datasets.
  • Ability to move from raw analysis to storytelling and explain findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders; strong English written and verbal communication.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data integrity, methodology, and defensibility; collaborative work style.

Nice to have:

  • Hands-on experience using GitHub for version control.
  • Degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Marketing, or related field.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
