Painting Estimator – Job Description

A Painting Estimator is responsible for assessing project requirements and preparing accurate cost estimates for painting jobs. This includes analyzing blueprints, site conditions, materials, labor, and timelines to ensure competitive and profitable bids.

Work Schedule: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST

Key Responsibilities

  • Review project plans, specifications, and client requirements
  • Conduct site visits to assess surface conditions and scope of work
  • Measure areas to determine material and labor needs
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, including paint, supplies, labor, and equipment
  • Create and submit bids or proposals within deadlines
  • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and clients
  • Track project costs and adjust estimates when necessary
  • Maintain a database of pricing, materials, and labor rates
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards

Requirements

  • Experience in painting estimating, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of painting materials, techniques, and tools
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, STACK)
  • Excellent math and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication and negotiation skills
  • Time management and ability to meet deadlines
