Overview

We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer specializing in Web Analytics with deep Adobe expertise to head the strategic direction, design, governance, and evolution of our analytics architecture across the enterprise. In this role, you will own and champion the Solution Design Reference, establish and lead analytics governance frameworks, and partner with product, engineering, and delivery leadership to embed measurement standards across web and mobile platforms. You will serve as the principal authority on Adobe Analytics best practices, mentor senior engineers, and shape the organization's roadmap toward next-generation platforms like AEP and CJA.

Responsibilities

  • Own, govern, and strategically evolve the Solution Design Reference (SDR), including all eVar, prop, and event allocations, namespace conventions, and data layer contracts across web and mobile, setting the long-term vision for measurement architecture
  • Architect and oversee the registry ecosystem — screen, component, campaign, experiment, and product registries — establishing enterprise-wide taxonomy standards and ensuring adoption across all teams
  • Define, steward, and continuously refine the journey taxonomy (e.g., Journey / Micro-journey / Feature model) and lead the translation of complex business questions into measurable, auditable tracking requirements
  • Establish and lead the analytics governance framework end-to-end: change control processes, Registry Change Proposals (RCPs), RACI model, and a tiered data-quality escalation system, ensuring organizational adherence
  • Act as the ultimate decision-making authority on Adobe Analytics best practices: hit structure, processing rules, VISTA rules, classification hierarchies, and report suite strategy
  • Lead the organization's readiness assessment for Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) and Customer Journey Analytics (CJA), defining migration strategy, target data model, and phased delivery roadmap
  • Embed analytics requirements into product discovery and design processes at a strategic level, partnering with product and engineering leadership to ensure instrumentation is treated as a first-class concern
  • Define, enforce, and continuously improve standards for experiment and A/B test instrumentation, ensuring downstream reporting is valid, scalable, and actionable across all business domains
  • Build and lead an analytics enablement function across delivery teams — producing guides, documentation, onboarding programmes, and mentoring developers, QA, and product owners to raise the overall analytics maturity of the organization
  • Produce, maintain, and chair reviews of architecture decision logs, governance artefacts, and implementation standards documentation
  • Represent the analytics engineering function in cross-functional leadership forums, influencing technology strategy and advocating for measurement excellence at the executive level

Requirements

  • 8-12 years of general IT experience, including 2+ years of hands-on Adobe Analytics experience with demonstrable end-to-end ownership of large-scale SDR design and governance initiatives
  • At least 1 year of relevant leadership experience
  • Deep expertise in eVar, prop, and event architecture, processing rules, VISTA rules, and report suite configuration, with a track record of setting enterprise standards
  • Proven background in architecting, leading, and maintaining tag management implementations using Adobe Experience Platform Data Collection / Launch across complex, multi-team environments
  • Strong data layer literacy — ability to define schemas, set review standards for JavaScript implementations, and lead collaboration with engineering teams
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business objectives into measurement frameworks and influence executive stakeholders on data strategy and investment decisions
  • Proven track record of authoring, enforcing, and scaling analytics governance frameworks across organizations, including change control, RACI, and data quality management
  • Hands-on experience leading mobile analytics instrumentation strategy, including iOS and Android SDK integration patterns
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience, with the ability to grow and guide senior engineers and cross-functional contributors
  • Proficient communication skills in English (B2 level or higher)

  • Hands-on experience with Adobe Experience Platform (AEP), Customer Journey Analytics (CJA), or Real-Time CDP
  • Knowledge of Swift or Kotlin sufficient to review AnalyticsSession method calls in mobile codebases and guide engineering teams
  • Familiarity with SQL and data warehouse concepts for analytics data pipeline architecture
  • Experience defining strategy across complementary platforms such as Amplitude, GA4, or Mixpanel
  • Strong understanding of experimental design and attribution modelling, with the ability to set organizational standards
