Creative Assembly is a leading game studio dedicated to crafting deep, detailed, and long-lasting games for millions of players globally.

Location & work format: Horsham, West Sussex, UK. Hybrid (typically 3 days a week in the studio).

Responsibilities:

  • Define and communicate a clear audio vision aligned with project and franchise goals and quality bars.
  • Set and deliver the project's technical audio plan, including systems, tools, and debugging workflows.
  • Collaborate with leadership to define project scope, roadmap, resourcing, strategy, and budget.
  • Recruit and establish outsourcing partnerships for audio development.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of audio specialists to support their long-term career progression.
  • Run gameplay evaluation sessions and iterate on the mix to deliver immersive, world-class audio.

Requirements:

  • Experience as an audio lead or director on full-cycle shipped AAA games.
  • Extensive in-house games industry experience in creative audio roles with strong sound design ability.
  • Advanced proficiency with audio engines such as Wwise, FMOD, Unreal, Unity, or ADX2.
  • Expert knowledge of leading DAWs (ProTools, Nuendo, Reaper, etc.).
  • Strong implementation skills, including systems design and performance optimizations.
  • Experience with surround formats and PC/Console hardware tools and workflows.

Nice to have:

  • Visual scripting experience (Node graph-based or Blueprints).
  • Experience working with external IP partners.
  • Experience leading location recordings and Foley sessions.
  • Familiarity with the Total War brand.
