Develop backend systems for a Canadian client's product using C#, ASP.NET Core, and Microsoft Azure. Own features end to end, from requirements clarification and architecture design to release, monitoring, and troubleshooting in Azure. Collaborate with the client's team, product owners, QA, and DevOps engineers, and contribute to technical decisions.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong experience with C#, .NET / ASP.NET Core, REST API design, distributed backend systems, relational databases, and SQL
- Experience with Entity Framework or another ORM, asynchronous programming, and concurrent processing
- Understanding of dependency injection, SOLID principles, and design patterns
- Experience designing for reliability, scalability, and maintainability
- Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
- Ability to take features or technical problems from requirements through production; experience with cloud applications
- Good English (B1+) for daily team communication; Microsoft Azure experience is highly desirable
Nice to have: Event-driven architecture, messaging systems, Azure Service Bus, microservice or modular service architectures, multi-tenant SaaS, high-availability systems, privacy-sensitive or regulated applications, monitoring and observability, and AI/ML integrations such as Azure OpenAI.
