Amazon is hiring a Software Development Engineer for its Relationships Platform and Services team in NYC. The team builds services that manage related products across Amazon websites, mobile apps, Alexa, and physical stores, serving millions of requests per second with single-digit millisecond latency.
Responsibilities: Build new microservices and expand the core platform, including highly available distributed services, machine-learning and rule-based validation systems, data stores, and systems that make related product sets available across Amazon. Own software services and contribute to high-visibility initiatives.
Requirements: At least 3 years of professional software development experience; at least 2 years of design or architecture experience involving design patterns, reliability, and scaling; experience programming in at least one language. Preferred: 3+ years across the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations; a bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Compensation and benefits: Base salary is USD 158,100–213,800 annually, plus sign-on payments and restricted stock units. Benefits include health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
