Join the Search Ranking team within the Global Search tribe. Build ranking systems used across more than 60 countries and 35 languages, serving over 80 million searches daily.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and productionize deep neural ranking models, owning their full lifecycle from experimentation and evaluation to monitoring and iterative improvement.
  • Use LLM coding agents to orchestrate autonomous experiments in feature engineering and Learning to Rank; review experiment results and identify promising signals.
  • Innovate in ranking signals, feature stores, embedding-based retrieval, and model architectures, translating research into production systems.
  • Monitor model drift, latency, and feature pipeline integrity to maintain production reliability.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers, data engineers, and product managers; communicate ML trade-offs and contribute to the team roadmap.
  • Mentor data scientists and promote rigorous experimentation, code quality, and emerging agentic development practices.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in a quantitative field, or a bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of work experience.
  • 4+ years of industry experience as a Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer applying ML in high-traffic production environments.
  • Production experience with deep learning ranking architectures, multi-task learning, Learning to Rank, offline evaluation, and online A/B outcomes.
  • Experience with LLM coding agents and autonomous experiment workflows.
  • Expertise in Python and its ML ecosystem; familiarity with SQL, cloud environments, and large-scale data processing.
  • Experience with the ML lifecycle, MLOps, deployment, experiment tracking, model registries, and production monitoring.
  • Strong ownership, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to work in globally distributed, cross-functional teams.
