About the team

Automation Testing builds how developers test and automate their APIs, from local runs and CI pipelines to scheduled and large-scale runs in the cloud.

About the role

You'll work across Automation Testing, starting with API mocking and simulation. As a senior engineer, you're the lead for your area, and you own the engineering and the product together.

What you'll do

  • Own your area end to end: decide what to build and why, then design, build and ship it across the app, backend and command line
  • Work directly with customers: run quick experiments and prototypes, and turn what you learn into product and technical decisions
  • Bring a point of view: write proposals, challenge assumptions and shape the roadmap with your peers
  • Care about the details of the developer experience: UX copy, error messages, defaults and the first five minutes with the product
  • Build the skills, agents and AI workflows that let developers and coding agents test and automate their APIs
  • Make test runs fast, reliable and easy to debug, at any scale
  • Mentor engineers and raise the bar for quality on the team

What we're looking for

  • 6+ years building and shipping production software
  • Experience leading an area as its technical owner, from design through delivery and quality in production
  • A record of building customer-facing products, ideally for developers or other engineers
  • Full-stack: strong TypeScript and React, working depth in backend services, and experience building CLIs or developer tools
  • AI-forward: you use cutting-edge AI tools and coding agents every day to automate your work and operate at scale, and have built agents, skills or AI workflows into how a team works

Nice to have

  • Experience with API mocking, service virtualization or contract testing
  • Experience with API testing, developer tools or test automation

At Postman we value in person collaboration. We are in office 5 days a week for all roles based out of our hubs in San Francisco Bay Area, Boston, Austin, New York City, Tokyo and London. For roles based in Bangalore, employees currently work in the office three days a week and will transition to five days per week by the end of the year. We were thoughtful in our approach which is based on collaboration and grounded in feedback from our workforce, leadership team, and peers. The benefits of our in office model will be shared knowledge, brainstorming sessions, communication, and building trust in-person that cannot be replicated via zoom.
