💙 About VIDOC:
We are a team of hackers building an AI Security Engineer: security automation that aims to match human-level performance in security code review. We are developing our own state-of-the-art AI agents, techniques and models for cybersecurity and integrating them into autonomous systems. We're a 14-person team split between Poland (mainly Gdańsk) and San Francisco. We've raised $6M so far and are raising more. We're part of the NATO DIANA program and actively engaged in other NATO-related initiatives. Our clients operate in industries where cybersecurity is a crucial element of business, like financial institutions and critical infrastructure companies.
About the Role:
You’ll build the product across the whole stack. Most of the work is backend: durable workflows that run our security agents, the APIs and integrations that bring their results to developers, and the data model underneath. You’ll also build the UI security teams use every day.
The product runs both in our cloud and in customers’ environments, so you’ll build with both in mind. You’ll write code end-to-end, join design discussions and work closely with the people focused on customer deployments and agent research. You’ll own what you build. We’re looking for someone who loves building things that work, uses AI as a tool rather than a crutch, and leaves their ego at the door.
What you'll do
Take features from prototype to production, messy parts included.
Get requirements straight from the founders and the tech team, through real conversations, not a spec doc.
Bring product ideas based on what users need.
Build APIs, integrations (GitHub, GitLab, MCP), data models and UIs for security workflows developers want to use.
Help build the AI-powered features at the core of our product.
Keep our services scalable, stable and observable, in our cloud and on customers’ infrastructure.
Write well-tested code, review others’ code, and help improve how we work.
Work on our core platform: TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS, Temporal, Next.js, React, Tailwind CSS, Shadcn.
Must have
5+ years of professional software development, mostly full-stack: TypeScript, Node.js, React/Next.js, REST APIs.
Production experience with relational databases (we use MySQL) and backend systems: queues or workflows, retries, Docker, CI/CD, AWS.
Hands-on AI experience: integrating LLM APIs, building agents, MCP, RAG, or working daily with coding agents like Claude Code or Cursor. You move faster with them and still understand what your changes touch.
Security-minded by default: you know the OWASP Top 10 and write code that holds up.
Fluent English.
Nice to have
Temporal, Kubernetes, on-prem deployments, agentic workflows.
You’ll fit in if…
You’ve built things people use, not just things that pass a demo.
You figure things out (new tools, new domains) instead of waiting for a spec.
You’ll tell a founder “we shouldn’t build this” and back it up, and you’re just as happy to be challenged.
If you’ve only worked inside well-defined tickets with someone else deciding scope, this probably isn’t the role for you.
Our stack

Day off on your birthday.
Hiring process
Intro call (45 min) with Paulina and someone from our tech team. We get to know each other and do a short technical check.
System design session with our engineering team.
Conversation with our CTO (30 min).
A day with the team at our office in Gdańsk. (We cover travel costs.)
Final conversation with our founders.
The whole process usually takes around 3 weeks. Because of the number of applications, we only reply to shortlisted candidates.
