As a Senior Python Backend Engineer – GenAI Integration, you will be working for our client, supporting a CIB AI team focused on delivering world-class Generative AI experiences for colleagues and clients in an ethical and responsible manner. You will help expand data integration capabilities, unlock new insights, enhance decision-making, and create innovative solutions that drive efficiency and value.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Create AI agents that source data from various systems used by Generative AI models.
  • Design and develop reliable data transfer pipelines.
  • Build microservices aligned with the wider Generative AI solution architecture.
  • Integrate diverse data sources to support scalable AI experiences.
  • Develop backend services using Python and FastAPI.
  • Contribute to data integration initiatives involving databases, big data technologies, and cloud platforms.
  • Support the implementation and evaluation of Retrieval-Augmented Generation and context-aware AI solutions.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in backend engineering or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and FastAPI.
  • Experience designing and developing microservices architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and GCP BigQuery.
  • Practical knowledge of Hadoop, Starburst, data virtualization, or vector stores.
  • Experience working with Google Cloud Platform and/or Azure Cloud.
  • Familiarity with RAG architectures, memory stores, and context engineering.
  • Experience with Google ADK and AI evaluation systems.

It is a strong plus if you have:

  • Knowledge of ethical AI practices and responsible AI frameworks.
  • Experience in a financial services or investment banking environment.

Language Required for the role: Communicative English.
