•••••••• is hiring a Staff Backend Software Engineer to build and shape its core crypto transaction platform, written in Go. The platform moves data between institutions worldwide, where correctness, isolation, and auditability are critical.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and build core parts of the transaction platform, ensuring correctness under failure and predictable latency as the platform scales.
  • Write design documents and review designs and code.
  • Use AI coding agents and improve the specifications, context, and review practices for safely shipping agent-written code.
  • Work with product, compliance, and customer-facing teams to turn regulatory and customer needs into software.
  • Own production operations, including tracing, alerts, and incident follow-ups; participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Mentor engineers.

Requirements:

  • Typically 8+ years building backend systems and a track record of delivering technically challenging projects end to end.
  • Deep distributed-systems design experience, especially asynchronous processing and failure handling.
  • Strong Go skills, or production experience in a statically typed backend language such as Java, Kotlin, Rust, or C#, with willingness to ship Go within the first weeks.
  • In-depth PostgreSQL knowledge, including schema design, query plans, locking, isolation levels, live migrations, and multi-tenant data.
  • Cloud experience with AWS or GCP, including IAM, networking, managed databases, queues, and storage; ability to work with Terraform and debug production using traces and logs.
  • Daily experience with coding agents such as Claude Code or Cursor, including writing specifications and reviewing their output.
  • Security fundamentals for sensitive data, including encryption in transit and at rest, key handling, data minimization, and least-privilege access.
  • Clear, concise writing for remote, asynchronous collaboration.

Nice to have: Applied cryptography; decentralized identity, DIDs, verifiable credentials, or DIDComm; regulated finance, payments, or compliance experience, including Travel Rule, AML, or ISO 20022; SOC 2 or ISO 27001; crypto and blockchain knowledge, including chains, addresses, assets, or CAIP identifiers; Node.js and TypeScript; queue and workflow systems; modern observability tooling.

Benefits: Flexible remote work; $1,000 work-from-home stipend within the first year; MacBook Pro; unlimited PTO; country-specific statutory benefits and contributions.
