The role:

We’re looking for a Senior Full-Stack Software Developer to join a team of experienced engineers working on the platforms our customers and colleagues use every day. That includes the CRM system at the heart of our customer operations, along with the modern, distributed services we’re building on Spring, React and Kubernetes.

This senior role suits someone who can learn a large, complex system fast. You’ll be comfortable picking up unfamiliar code, understanding how the different parts fit together, and contributing within weeks. From there you’ll own key areas of the platform, shape its technical direction and help the rest of the team grow.

You’ll split your time between building new capabilities and making the systems already in production more reliable, faster and easier to maintain. This isn’t a role where you just take tickets. You’ll work directly with business teams to understand what they need, decide how to build it and see it through to production.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Get to know our platforms quickly and become the go-to person for the areas you own.

  • Lead the design and delivery of end-to-end features across back-end services and front-end applications.

  • Design and develop microservices, APIs and integrations in a containerised, Kubernetes-based environment.

  • Work with business stakeholders to turn requirements into well-designed technical solutions, then break them down into work the team can deliver.

  • Make architectural and technical decisions with scalability, resilience, security and maintainability in mind.

  • Review code, set engineering standards and mentor other developers.

  • Monitor, troubleshoot and improve the performance and reliability of production systems, and lead the investigation of complex issues.

  • Help improve our delivery pipelines and engineering practices, and share what you learn so others get up to speed faster.

Your Profile:

  • A university degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience as a software developer, including at least 2 years in a senior or technical lead role.

  • Expert Java skills, including Spring Boot and Spring Cloud.

  • Solid experience with React.

  • Proven experience designing, building and running microservices and REST APIs in production.

  • Experience with distributed systems, including asynchronous and event-driven integration.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.

  • Comfort with Git and CI/CD pipelines.

  • A track record of getting up to speed quickly on large, unfamiliar codebases.

  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

  • Experience working in Agile teams (Scrum or Kanban).

  • Clear communication, the ability to influence technical decisions, and enjoyment of working with non-technical colleagues.

Nice to have

  • Experience in telecoms or with CRM and billing systems.

  • Experience using AI tools in software development, such as AI coding assistants for writing, reviewing or testing code.

  • Experience with Quarkus.

  • Knowledge of OAuth.

  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools.

  • Experience with continuous delivery practices.

  • Familiarity with PHP or ••••••, since some of our older systems use them.
