Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Oracle Database Administrator to lead complex database architecture, engineering, and optimization initiatives for mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, configure, and manage enterprise-grade Oracle database environments
  • Lead major upgrades, patching cycles, platform migrations, and consolidation projects
  • Design and manage high-availability and disaster recovery solutions using Oracle Data Guard
  • Perform advanced performance tuning including SQL optimization, instance tuning, and memory management
  • Implement and optimize robust backup and recovery strategies using RMAN
  • Conduct capacity planning, growth analysis, and recommend scalability improvements
  • Enforce security standards, credential rotations, access governance, and audit compliance
  • Support development teams with code reviews, query optimization, and schema design
  • Validate deployment plans, participate in change advisory boards, and ensure successful release execution
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and best practices
  • Drive automation efforts using Shell, Python, and Ansible
  • Mentor Level 2 DBAs and serve as an escalation point for complex issues

Requirements

  • 6–12 years of Oracle DBA experience
  • Deep knowledge of RAC, ASM, multitenant architecture, partitioning, and advanced Oracle internals
  • Strong experience with Data Guard configuration, switchover and failover, and disaster recovery design
  • Expertise in SQL and PL/SQL performance tuning with AWR, ASH, and trace analysis
  • Strong skills in RMAN backup strategies, restore troubleshooting, and recovery scenarios
  • Solid Linux administration skills with Shell and Python scripting proficiency
  • Working knowledge of an additional RDBMS such as MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB
  • Proven leadership in high-impact production issue resolution with global teams
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking
  • Clear communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
  • Upper-Intermediate English language proficiency (B2)

Nice to have

  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform
  • Knowledge of Oracle GoldenGate, Oracle Data Integrator, or other data integration tools
  • Experience with infrastructure automation using Ansible, Terraform, and CI/CD
  • Understanding of security frameworks, compliance audits, and governance processes
  • Oracle professional-level certification such as OCP or OCE
