•••••• is hiring a Staff Engineer to join its Platform team, building shared tooling, managing migrations from a Ruby monolith, and evolving infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Define technical vision, architecture, and standards across backend systems.
  • Ensure reliability, scalability, and performance at global consumer scale.
  • Make architectural decisions across distributed systems, APIs, and data infrastructure.
  • Improve performance, latency, and fault tolerance.
  • Foster ownership, accountability, and engineering excellence.
  • Support domain-based team structures, including pricing, matching, and supply engagement.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience with strong backend expertise.
  • Experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems.
  • Deep understanding of backend architecture, infrastructure, and platform concerns.
  • High technical judgment and attention to detail.
  • Experience with consumer-scale products or marketplaces and performance-critical systems.
