Build and scale •••••••••••••’s internal Payments engine, supporting reliable checkout and payment operations across global markets. Develop core payment features and financial products, including wallets and credit.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and deliver secure, scalable software systems in complex global environments.
- Lead backend engineering for distributed systems and drive architectural decisions.
- Own services end to end, including infrastructure automation and continuous deployment.
- Define testing strategies across unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end levels.
- Diagnose production issues across distributed, multi-region microservices and promote reliability, on-call, and observability practices.
- Mentor teammates and improve engineering practices.
Requirements:
- Experience designing and delivering software in complex business domains at global scale, preferably in fintech or payments.
- Deep backend engineering expertise, especially with distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with Java, Kotlin, Spring / Spring Boot, Hibernate, and JUnit.
- Strong ownership mindset and interest in automation, CI/CD, and reliability.
- Strong problem-solving skills and high standards for quality, performance, and detail.
Nice to have: Experience in payments, wallet, or anti-fraud domains; event-driven architectures such as Kafka; and mentoring engineers.
