Chainalysis is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its Aggregation & Search team.
Work format: Remote (United Kingdom)
Requirements:
- 8+ years of production PostgreSQL experience, including schema design, query optimization, partitioning, replication, and performance tuning for write-heavy, high-throughput workloads.
- 8+ years building Java Spring Boot services, including REST APIs, JDBC, connection pooling, and JVM performance profiling.
- Experience with Kafka or equivalent streaming systems, including consumer groups, offset management, and partition lag debugging.
- Experience operating distributed systems on AWS, including microservices, multi-silo deployments, and Terraform.
- Strong cross-system debugging skills, tracing serving delays from Datadog metrics through Humio logs to code paths.
- Comfort with AI-assisted development and agentic engineering practices; bias toward shipping and iterating with product and design partners; enthusiasm for scaling large data systems.
- Technology stack includes PostgreSQL, Java Spring, Kafka, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Python, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Datadog, Humio, and PagerDuty.
Nice to have: Database migration experience; Flink, Spark, or lakehouse formats such as Delta Lake, Iceberg, and Parquet; Kubernetes operations including StatefulSets, HelmReleases, and stateful workloads; mentoring engineers and driving technical decisions through RFCs/ADRs; interest in cryptocurrency.
