Kiwitaxi is looking for an experienced Head of Development Team to lead its backend development team. This is a hands-on role, with approximately 50% of the time spent on development.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of backend developers (at least 3 people) and conduct technical interviews.
- Plan and manage the technical backlog, address technical debt, and improve engineering processes and culture.
- Introduce technical and organizational changes and communicate the importance of technical initiatives to product and business stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Commercial backend development experience with PHP and Golang.
- Experience designing microservice architectures and working with different types of databases.
- Understanding of modern infrastructure, including containers, orchestration, cloud services, and monitoring.
- Experience managing backend developers and conducting technical interviews.
- Experience driving significant technical and organizational changes, building engineering culture, and managing a technical backlog.
- Understanding of agile development and strong communication skills.
Technology stack: PHP 7.1–7.4, Symfony 1 and 4, Golang, Doctrine, MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, Redis, RabbitMQ, REST API, GraphQL, PHP/PHTML/Twig, HTML/CSS/JS, jQuery, Webpack, Docker, Git, and CI.
