VACANCY: BIOINFORMATICIAN

CELL-FREE GENOMICS, Limited, is a biotechnology company based in Cyprus, active in the field of research & development and production of innovative technologies and products in Genetics Diagnostics and Laboratory Medicine.

The Position

We are seeking a motivated Bioinformatician to join our interdisciplinary team.
You will:

  • Develop and apply computational, statistical, and machine learning methods for the analysis and interpretation of genomic data, supporting genetic research and diagnostic applications.
  • Perform bioinformatics analyses of next-generation sequencing (NGS) data, applying knowledge of genomics, genetics, and relevant analytical methodologies.
  • Provide bioinformatics support across all genetic research activities.
  • Support the verification and validation of genetic testing methods and bioinformatics workflows through statistical analysis and performance assessment.
  • Install, configure, and maintain technical solutions.
  • Manage and organize large-scale datasets.
  • Develop and optimize software tools and custom scripts to automate genomic data processing, analysis, storage, and retrieval, ensuring reproducibility and adherence to relevant quality and accreditation standards.

 Requirements

  • Masters or PhD degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Mathematics, Statistics, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Strong programming skills (Python preferred) and experience with Bash/Linux.
  • Experience with next-generation sequencing data analysis, genomics data formats, molecular biology, or genetics.
  • Familiarity with HPC, parallel programming, or cluster management tools such as SLURM.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently and work well in a team.

 Desirable

  • Familiarity with workflow management systems such as Nextflow or Snakemake.
