Join OpenZeppelin’s Secure Development team to build and secure production-grade smart contracts and libraries for the Canton Network.

Responsibilities:

  • Own features of the OpenZeppelin Contracts Library for Daml, from design through audit, including timelocks, access control, vaults, and token standards.
  • Design and implement Canton reference implementations for privacy-preserving DEXs, lending, cross-chain stablecoin settlement, and confidential auctions.
  • Implement Canton standards in Daml and coordinate specification and middleware alignment with partners.
  • Present and defend designs, collaborate with security researchers on threat models and audits, and contribute security and developer-experience feedback upstream.
  • Use AI systems in research, design, implementation, testing, and security work; develop and share agents, skills, and workflows.
  • Research privacy-preserving DeFi, multi-party authorization, and Canton-specific primitives.

Requirements:

  • Production fluency in Daml and deep understanding of Canton architecture, privacy boundaries, synchronizers, upgrades, and token standards.
  • 3+ years of production smart-contract development, including work on Canton or another UTXO-based or privacy-preserving architecture.
  • Production DeFi experience, such as AMMs, vaults, lending protocols, or cross-chain settlement; familiarity with security considerations and standard EVM patterns.
  • Strong security-first mindset and ability to review Daml code adversarially.
  • Daily experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor, with accountability for shipped work.
  • Fluent English for client-facing communication; autonomous and proactive.

Nice to have: Cryptography or financial engineering, privacy-preserving DeFi, institutional finance or compliance, Canton SV or Splice experience, cross-chain messaging, library or SDK API design, AI-assisted security work, non-EVM ecosystems, and open-source contributions.

Work arrangement: Fully remote, with flexible time off. The interview process includes a paid technical work trial.

Benefits: Global team gatherings, paid caregiver leave and a baby bonus, up to $500 for home-office equipment, medical insurance, learning and development opportunities, and a monthly coworking stipend.
